Information for Your Station

Okay...it didn't make sense the first time I said it, but that didn't stop me from adopting the phrase quite a few months ago (information for your station)...

In any case, this will be a place to post any new information you have come across, which you think would be good for others to know about.

Did you find a great website? Read an amazing and/or informative article or book? See something neat on TV?

Let us know!

Have any of you evertried visiting the website with the 50 million pound challenge, by Dr. Ian Smith? Frank and I were on there last night and it looks pretty interesting. You can start your own personal challenge and then track your progress, and you can also sign up as a group... just something to think about. I'll get more details to you soon.

I just noticed that you have included links to several great websites. Thanks. I use several of them. They are full of good advice and healthy eating and exercise tips. This makes it quick and easy to connect to a favorite site right from your blog.

I'm glad it helps. Maybe I should post a little note so that others can take advantage of the links. They've been there for a while. I just add more as I find new things. I was wondering if everyone knew they were there. Also, I don't know if everyone has had a chance to see the Weekly Inspiration site. I'll send a note by e-mail, maybe.

Did you know that to burn off the calories from just one plain m&m you would have to walk the full length of a football field?

Did you know that on average, every minute of walking can extend your life by 1.5 to 2 minutes? That's a two-for-one trade off.

Trying to lose the last five pounds is proving to be quite a challenge. I have been bouncing between 148 and 150 for the last week or so. I am sure that the reason is I give in so easily when Ira wants to: go get a pretzel at the mall, go to Baskin-Robbins for a cone, etc. I know I am not going to give up all the little pleasures of life, and I am also not going to exercise any more than I believe I can continue as a lifestyle change for the rest of my life. So I will have to be more diligent and plan for surprise treats. I could also just never go any where with Mister "Walk-five -miles-a-day" (and sometimes two times a day).
